“I am on a mission to show how treating animals with kindness is not only good for animals, but also good for us. Join me as I explore how animal protection is a win-win for everyone.”
About The World Conference On Animal Protection:
The conference will take place Monday 30 September and Tuesday 1 October 2019 at the Marienlyst Strandhotel in Helsingør (Elsinore) in Denmark.
Animals take up many different roles in societies around the world, which means that there are a numerous perspectives of protecting animals. The focus of this conference will be mainstreaming animal protection. This is a strategy towards promoting and improving the status of animals by involving an animal perspective into policy making, legislation, administration and other regulatory measures – in areas such as education, science, police work and the legal system and our protection of nature and biodiversity.
The conference will bring together 100 invited experts from different fields, i.e. academics, scientists, lawyers, decision-makers etc., who have dedicated time and research in their respective fields to improve the situation of animals. The conference will give the opportunity for experts to share knowledge and serve as a forum for discussing methods and models on specific topics.
On Monday 30 September selected experts will present how their work is improving the life of animals in their specific area of expertise. Tuesday 1 October is reserved for working groups on specific topics in which all invitees will have the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences. This will allow people with different backgrounds and nationalities to learn from each other and eventually bring about tangible results (recommendations, guidelines etc.). These working groups can potentially serve as a network for future cooperation between the participants.
The conference will start Monday morning 30 September 9.30 AM and finish Tuesday afternoon 1 October around 16.30 PM. On Monday evening the conference will finish around 16.30 PM and dinner is provided for those wishing to stay. The conference itself, including meals during the conference, is free for all invited guests. Transportation and accommodation are at your own expense.
The conference will be held at the beautiful Marienlyst Strandhotel, in the lovely Danish city Helsingør (with the English name Elsinore). In Elsinore you will also find Kronborg Castle – the home of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. In the year 2000 Kronborg Castle became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
