  • Tyler Cowen, author of: “An Economist Gets Lunch: New Rules for Everyday Foodies,” is a professor of economics at George Mason University and blogs at Marginal Revolution.

“First, we should abolish all federal farm subsidies, including all subsidies to crop insurance.

Second, we should move toward better treatment for farm animals. Many of these animals are as intelligent and as sociable as our family pets, yet we would never dream of subjecting our pets to comparable conditions…”
